TWO LIVES PLUS ONE
by Idit Cebula
synopsis
How do you become a "mensch", which means "a good person" in Yiddish? Thirty-nine-year-old Eliane Weiss, from an Ashkenazi Jewish family, is a teacher in a Parisian primary school. She is married to Sylvain, and they have a 17 year-old daughter, Bella. Attentive to the needs of everyone around her, and in particular to those of Rénia, her mother, Eliane is not completely at ease with her life. Accompanied by two good friends who drag her along, Eliane meets Jeanne Sfez, a writer who becomes her "good fairy". This important encounter is the start of a new beginning, of a transformation that completely changes the lives of Éliane and those around her. Will she be strong enough to fully follow her desire?
