The fourth in the series of workshops organised in partnership with the Animation Festival Network takes place at the World Festival of Animated Film - Animafest Zagreb in Croatia, between 5 and 10 June, 2023. Four promising international film journalists and critics work with tutor Jessica Kiang on reviews, interviews, industry stories and essays focused on the animation scene. These articles are published on the Cineuropa and Zippy Frames websites.

Dace Čaure

Dace Čaure is a Latvian film critic, curator, translator and editor. She holds a Masters in Audiovisual and Performing Arts with a specialization in film theory from the Latvian Academy of Culture, writes for public broadcaster LSM and KinoRaksti.lv and works as a curator at LAC Riga Film Museum and International Short Film Festival 2ANNAS. She is a member of FIPRESCI Latvia.

Alen Golež

Alen Golež is a Slovenian film critic and editor of the film and tv section of the culture media website Corridor – Intersections of Art (koridor-ku.si). He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Interlinguistic (Translation) Studies - English language, Faculty of Arts, University of Maribor. He has a special interest in animated films and has written about them in philosophy and sociology classes, as well as in reviews and studies of Disney and Netflix productions.

Sven Hollebeke

Sven Hollebeke is a Belgian freelance film critic, editor and programmer. He coordinates print and online publications at Film Fest Ghent and fuels his love for animation by writing programme texts for Kaboom Animation Festival. Sven is an alumnus of the Young Critics Workshop at Mooov Filmfestival and a member of the Union of Belgian Film Press and FIPRESCI. On the weekends, he serves as a co-host and editorial staff member of radio show Kuleshov. He’s also the programmer of ciné club Cine Forum and a frequent host of special screenings at Kunstencentrum BUDA.

Dinko Štimac

Dinko Štimac works in the field of culture in Croatia. His film texts and reviews have been published at Kulturpunkt.hr, Ziher.hr, Croatian Film Association's periodical Hrvatski filmski ljetopis, Zarez, Polemos, Diskrepancija etc.
