Banijay Nordic’s Yellow Bird banner is set to produce a new drama series, titled A Life’s Worth and inspired by real events that unfolded during the 1990s Bosnian War. The announcement was first reported by Variety.

The show is based on the novel of the same name written by Magnus Ernström and is set in the autumn of 1993, amid the devastating turmoil unfurling in Bosnia. Swedish UN soldiers embark on a perilous mission to bring peace to a fractured land. The story follows the journey of a group of young soldiers and their commander as they struggle with the complexities of war.

Krak said the project will offer “an intimate portrayal of the challenges faced by those in the crossfire of combat. […] Inspired by actual events, it is one of the most courageous series we have produced, depicting the Swedish UN troops amidst an alarming conflict, while also delving into the dynamics of friendship and love in a powerless existence,” Krak added.

Viaplay Content Distribution is also in charge of its world sales.
